Indian Players Make Gains In latest ICC ODI Rankings

Rohit Sharma led the Indian side to successfully defend the Asia cup as the team now has seven titles to its name. This is the first international title for Rohit as a skipper. The standby skipper made sure that captaincy doesn”t affect his performance as he amassed over 317 runs including a century.

His stellar knocks took him to the second spot in the ICC ODI rankings for the batsman. His partner Shikar Dhawan is now seated at the fifth position comfortably as the Indian top 3 found their berths in the top five positions of batsman rankings.

The top spot by Kohli has remained safe despite his absence in the Asia cup. It is to be noted that the Indian openers have amassed over 650 runs combined in the series and their valuable contributions played a vital role in the success.

On the other hand, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan became the first ranked all-rounder after his excellent run. The 20-year old added 10 wickets and 87 crucial runs to his bag in the process. He also retained his second spot in the ICC bowler rankings.

Bumrah remains as the top-ranked bowler while Kuldeep Yadav achieved his career best third rank.

The side is back home for the test series against Windies commencing October 4. These rankings will really boost the players to give their best in upcoming series.
