Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan turned 27 on Friday, July 18. Many from the cricketing world extended their wishes to the left-hander on his special day. Among them was India’s T20I opener Abhishek Sharma, who posted a photo of the duo relaxing in a swimming pool.
Sharing the moment on his Instagram story, the explosive young batter penned a birthday wish for the talented gloveman.
“Happy birthday mere Bihari baabu. Lots of love.”
Notably, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma were teammates at SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Abhishek was retained by the franchise for ₹14 crore, while Kishan was acquired by the 2016 champions for ₹11.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Kishan sensationally began the IPL 2025 season, smashing an unbeaten 106 off just 47 balls against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, his form dipped as the tournament progressed. The left-hander ended the season with 354 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 152.58.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma emerged as SRH’s second-highest run-scorer, amassing 439 runs in 13 innings with an impressive strike rate of 193.39. Despite strong individual performances, the Hyderabad-based franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing sixth on the points table with 13 points from 14 league games.
Shikhar Dhawan Sends Special Birthday Greeting To Ishan Kishan
Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan also took to Instagram to wish Ishan Kishan on his birthday. The 39-year-old extended his heartfelt wishes, expressing hope that the young wicketkeeper enjoys boundless happiness and continued success. In his Instagram story, Dhawan wrote:
“Happy birthday bro! Wishing you endless boundaries of happiness, runs & success.”
Kishan is not part of India’s squad for the ongoing England series, having been out of action since leaving the 2023-24 South Africa tour due to mental fatigue. He recently featured in the 2025 County Championship, scoring 77 for Nottinghamshire against Somerset.
