India whitewashed West Indies by in a thrilling 3rd T20I match played at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai just finished few moments. It was a great batting display by West Indies batsmen to post 181. While chasing the target, despite losing early wickets, Pant and Dhawan looked in tremendous touch before India chased down the target in a thriller.
West Indies captain Carlos Braithwaite won the toss and decided to bat first. Shai Hope and Hetymer got the team off to a flying start scoring 51 runs in the first 6 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal struck dismissing Shai Hope for 24. Both the openers added 51 runs for the opening wicket.
Soon after the other opener, Hetymer was dismissed by Chahal for 26. Darren Bravo and Dinesh Ramdin put on 32 runs for the 3rd wicket. Washington Sundar got the wicket of Ramdin for 15. Pooran and Bravo looked in attacking mood with superb stroke play putting pressure on Indian bowlers. The left-handed Pooran reached his half-century off just 24 balls in the last over. West Indies posted 181 for 3 in 20 overs. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 for 28.
Chasing 182 runs to win, India lost the big wicket of Rohit Sharma for 4 runs. KL Rahul and Dhawan played with positive intent adding 32 runs for the 2nd wicket. KL Rahul has dismissed 17 runs. At the end of 6 overs, India scored 50 for 2. Dhawan looked in good touch while Pant took time to settle before putting pressure on West Indies bowlers. The stylish left-handed batsman Dhawan reached his half-century off 36 balls while Pant too made his 1st T20I half-century off 30 balls.

Pant and Dhawan added 130 runs for the 3rd wicket. Pant was dismissed for 58 runs. In the last over, Dhawan got out for 92 off 62 balls. With 1 run required off 1 ball, Manish Pandey took a risky single and won the match for India. India won the match by 6 wickets.

West Indies 181 for 3 in 20 overs ( Pooran 53*, Bravo 43*, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/28, Sundar 1/33) by 6 wickets.
West Indies captain Carlos Braithwaite said: Happy with the effort. The pitch had spin and our bowlers did not turn to Yorkers. We have a lot of young talent in the squad but if we manage these guys, and get the big players, and then we can challenge big teams but also win the World Cup 2019
Indian captain Rohit Sharma said: Great effort to cross the line. As a team, there are chances of improvement. Spinners did a great job but the youngsters will learn to bowl under pressure. Overall in the series, we ticked lots of boxes while fielding.
Man of the match Shikhar Dhawan said: It was a happy performance. Finally got a score. Really happy with the way of Pant played. We know that if we stay till the end, then Pant has amazing six-hitting power and could chase down the target easily.
Man of the series Kuldeep Yadav said: Very happy with my performance. It was a great team effort.. Pleased with the performance and hope to continue to give best for the country.
