“Intriguing Trailer” – Fans Laud The Trailer Of Mithali Raj’s Biopic ‘Shabaash Mithu’

The trailer of Shabaash Mithu, a biopic based on the life of ace cricketer Mithali Raj, was released on Monday, June 20. The movie features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role playing the former Indian cricketer and is directed by Srijit Mukherji.

In the trailer, Taapsee dreams about becoming a cricketer but is mocked by several people. However, her coach, played by Vijay Raaz, backs the little girl to fulfill her dream. Raaz sees the potential in Taapsee and includes her in the girl’s cricket team. Amid all the struggles, Taapsee manages to stand tall and make an impact with her cricketing skills.

The film will release in cinemas on July 15, 2022. It has been shot across several domestic and international locations, covering Mithali Raj’s journey. “Shabaash Mithu” is produced by Viacom18 Studious, with Ajit Andhare as the creative producer and Priya Aven as the writer.

Mithali Raj’s international career

Recently, Mithali Raj took to social media to announce her retirement from international cricket. In a career spanning over two decades, from 1999 to 2022, the legendary cricketer broke several records and earned many accolades.

Mithali Raj has scored 7805 runs in 232 ODI matches at a brilliant average of 50.68. She has seven centuries and 64 half-centuries in the 50-over format for India. The right-handed batter has played 89 T20Is and 12 Test matches for the country. Last year, Mithali Raj became the first Indian batter, and only the second overall, to score 10,000 runs in women’s international cricket.
