IPL 2017 : 5 significant players in the IPL so far : IPL -10 is only around a week and a half old and we have already seen some magnificent performances. Though some star players haven”t quite fired yet, some of the youngsters and the veterans have shown great wit. It is difficult to choose one best player. but here are five of them who have really made a difference to their side.
1. Gautam Gambhir:
He has played 4 matches and already has 182 runs with a best of 76*, averaging 92! Though he has had his ups and downs lately, this IPL seems to be going well for him. Not only has he been a reliable batsman but also a reliable captain. KKR has lost only one game so far in the tournament and the way they”re playing, they look unbeatable, with a strong top order and decent bowling line up. The way Gambhir is playing, he might well be a contender for the Champions Trophy that is going to be held this June. Can he make a comeback at 35?
2. Samuel Badree:
He has played only two matches so far but has picked up 5 wickets already with figures of 4/9 in his first game for RCB. Though Mumbai got away with a win, Badree”s hat-trick was still the talk pf the night. He had reduced Mumbai to 7-4 and they never really looked like favourites until Pollard played his knock. Badree is currently the number one T20 bowler and the hat trick did not come as a surprise. Badree has won so many T20 matches for his sides. He considers himself a T20 specialist. That one big game for him will keep his spot in the RCB line-up secure. He might even be a contender for the purple cap.
3. Nitish Rana:
Talk about budding talent and this guy tops that list this time. He wears the orange cap now after overcoming Gambhir today. He has 193 runs in 5 games and averages a good 38.60. The dashing left hander has done exceptionally well in the domestic circuit. If he continues to do well, he can earn himself his national cap in no time!
4. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar:
Bhuvi recently made a comeback to the Indian side after a long break due to an injury but he did a decent job in the series against the Aussies. But looks like he has finally found his way back to form. He has 10 wickets in only 4 matches and has been very economical, giving away less than 6 an over on average, which is very appreciable in T20 cricket. He currently wears the purple cap and looks like he is going to own for atleast some more time.
5. Andrew Tye:
Tye has played only 2 games but already has 7 wickets to his name with a best of a match winning 5/17! His economy rate stands at 6.37 which is acceptable any day in this form of cricket. The Australian quickie has excelled in domestic cricket and though he was picked for CSK in 2015, he hadn”t got a chance. In 2016 , he didn”t get lucky as Gujarat Lions didn”t give him a single way. But looks like he has finally fought his way to the limelight!
