Rajasthan Royals will wear pink jersey ahead of their big clash against Chennai Super Kings to be played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 11th May. In the previous match, they defeated Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs to keep themselves alive for the playoff stage.
Captain Ajiyanka Rahane, Krishnappa Gowtham, Henrich Klassen and Mahipal Lomror were seen holding the pink dress on Wednesday to promote early cancer detection. This is a part of Royals cancer out a campaign.
In a statement RR captain, Rahane said: “As a player, I think this initiative is a small but crucial step towards a direction of cancer-free society and I hope that we perform to the best of our ability to raise as much awareness as we can,”.
The special jersey will include 3 colours including pink, teal and burgundy. They will wear the dress to create mass awareness. The event is run by the support of state government, National Cancer grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association in the state.
The colours indicate the common types of cancer, including pink for breast cancer, burgundy for oral cancer and teal for cervical cancer.
Rajasthan Royals are in a must-win situation against Chennai Super Kings. They need to win the remaining 4 matches and if they lose one more match, Rajasthan Royals would be depended on other results.

They are currently at 6th place in the points table with 8 points. Rajasthan Royals need their top all-rounder Ben Stokes to fire in order to give the fight to Chennai Super Kings. It is going to be a big asks for Rajasthan Royals. Last time these two teams met, CSK crushed RR by 64 runs at MCA Stadium, Pune.
