Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra while previewing the CSK vs RR contest in his Youtube channel, questioned the role of Kedar Jadhav in the side for Chennai Super Kings. Jadhav, who was re-inserted in the playing XI against Delhi Capitals in CSK’s last game did not bat and did not bowl as well. With this game being an important for CSN as well as for RR, Chopra answered a few selection headaches ahead of this key clash.

Chopra said that Jadhav’s batting position has to be reconsidered by CSK, since he is a waste at number six or seven. His potential is not being used by the team at that position. Also, Jadhav is hardly being used with the ball as well in this season, which makes his inclusion all the more questionable.

Aakash Chopra Questions Kedar Jadhav’s Inclusion For CSK

“Bravo is out, Josh Hazlewood is in according to me. Why are the Chennai Super Kings playing Kedar Jadhav? If they want to play him, then they will have to see his batting position because the number at which they are sending him, it is actually futile. Play another bowler and choke the opposition,” Aakash told in his Youtube channel.

Aakash Chopra also spoke on the probable playing XI for Rajasthan Royals. He concentrated more on their batting order which has been played with a number of times in the season so far. He said that Robin Uthappa is best placed to open for the side. That is where he is at his best. He backed Jos Buttler to open alongside Uthappa.

He further stressed on the need of Sanju Samson and Steve Smith to be back amongst the runs for RR. With the ball, Chopra demanded a bit more support for Jofra Archer from the other bowlers.

“RR was playing well in the last match and if they had not committed the one mistake of giving the 19th over to Unadkat instead of Jofra, they would have defeated RCB. So I don’t see much scope of a change in their team.

Robin to open with Stokes now, things are changing. After that you send Samson but he needs to score runs. Then Steve Smith and Jos Buttler. I feel Buttler is batting a little too low down the order,” said Chopra while analysing Rajasthan’s probable playing XI.

Both Chennai and Rajasthan are on six points from nine games. A loss here for either team will make their road to the playoffs all the more difficult in IPL 2020.
