Chennai Super Kings has been the most talked-about franchise ahead of the start of IPL 2020 due to various reasons. Two of their senior players have pulled out of IPL 2020 citing personal reasons. Also, Deepak Chahar, who tested COVID-19 positive has now recovered, much to the relief of the franchise.

Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has been keeping himself busy and vocal on social media, analysing the strength and weaknesses of every team. In his recent video for his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra talked about two threats for CSK ahead of IPL 2020.

UAE Heat to Trouble CSK: Aakash Chopra

The first threat for CSK Chopra mentioned in his video is Mumbai Indians. Out of the four IPL finals, Mumbai has won, they defeated CSK in three of them (2013, 2015, 2019). Overall, MI hold an edge over CSK winning 17 matches out of the total 28 played.

“Talking about the threats, they have Mumbai Indians as their biggest threat. If you see the history of the IPL, this is one team against whom they have not been able to display their magic. They tend to lose to the Mumbai Indians,” Chopra said.

The hot and humid conditions in the UAE will be another threat for Chennai in the words of the former Indian Test cricketer. The average age of the CSK squad is over 30 years, which is why adapting to the conditions might be a bit tougher for the “Dad’s Army” as per Chopra.

“One more thing is that it is going to be extremely hot in the UAE. That is another threat because in that heat you would be playing back to back matches, the squad is very tight-knit, you don’t have too much manoeuvrability. There are some players in the team whom you may not be able to play because they do not have match-winners beyond their top 15-16 players,” he added.
