Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing against Delhi Capitals in Sharjah in a little while from now. This will be match 16 of IPL 2020 and the fourth game for these two teams. Also, this will be the first game for both these teams at this venue. Ahead of the clash, former Indian opener turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has weighed in on KKR’s batting line-up. He has come up with a few suggestions for the Shahrukh Khan owned-team ahead of the important clash.
Aakash on his Youtube channel, Aakashvaani said that KKR needs to change their opening pair. He voted for Rahul Tripathi to open with Shubman Gill. Narine has not been in the best of form with the bat for Kolkata in the past two seasons. Chopra also said that KKR have too many options with the ball and has fewer options with the bat to control a slide or a mini-collapse.
Aakash Chopra Weighs in On KKR’s Batting Line-Up
“I would say Kolkata Knight Riders should open with Tripathi instead of Narine, and you can make a fast bowler sit out. Because at the moment I am feeling that they have a lot of bowling options, but their batting lineup is a little weak if there is a mini-collapse,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Next in his video, he spoke about Nitish Rana and his role with the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders. Aakash Chopra feels that KKR is yet to see the best of Rana with the bat adding that the left-hander hasn’t done enough for his side so far. Rana has scored 24, 26 and 22 in his first three outing for Kolkata. He now has another opportunity to score big against Delhi Capitals.
“Nitish Rana has not played a big knock and neither has Dinesh Karthik and then it becomes a bit of an issue. It happened in the last match as well, but they got saved as Eoin Morgan played very well, and they barely scraped through to a good total,” he added.
KKR’s youngsters Shubman Gill, Shivam, Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti designed the victory of their team against Rajasthan Royals and the management would hope that the trio can keep up their good form against Delhi as well. KKR are ahead by 13-11 in the head to head count between both teams.
