Former Indian skipper Anil Kumble is celebrating his 50th birthday today. The Kings XI Punjab coach did not have much to celebrate given how his team has been playing so far. However, their win in the last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore has brought back a smile on his face. However, Kumble’s team has yet a lot to play for if they are to make it to the playoffs which seem a bit distant at the moment. As we celebrate ‘Jumbo’s’ 50th birthday, we take a look at two incidents when he entertained his fans in his own humble way.
A fellow co-passenger and the fan tweeted about sharing the same flight with Kumble. In the tweet, she also mentioned that she would like to have a picture with Kumble. The girl tweeted, “OMG just spotted @anilkumble1074. We are in the same flight. Can I please get a selfie? Please… “
@Mittermaniac please put in a good word for me. Will you?

He entertained another fan while travelling from Bengaluru to Mumbai. The fangirl tweeted that she was traveling along with the former Indian skipper on the same flight. In the appending tweet, she mentioned that she wants to meet Kumble but is nervous.
The legendary @anilkumble1074 in my BLR-MUM flight. Glanced at him once and was reminded of that game in West Indies where he bowled with a bandaged jaw. Teared up a bit. Gawwddd, I'm such a sucker for cricket memories. 😭
