England all-rounder Ben Stokes reached Dubai on Saturday, (September 3) to play in IPL 2020. He missed the first four matches for his side Rajasthan Royals out of which they have won two and lost two. He was back in New Zealand in the meantime with his father who was diagnosed with cancer. It comes as a good new for his franchise who have lost their last two games after having a good start to their campaign.
Ben Stokes makes a direct entry into the Royals playing XI as they missed his all-round abilities nig time. He will possibly replace his England teammate Tom Curran in the playing XI given that Steve Smith, Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler and Stokes himself form the core of the Royals side The Royals are among one of the sides who are heavily dependent on their overseas contingent to perform.

Immediately after arriving in Dubai, Stokes was quick to post an update on his Instagram handle abut the hot and humid conditions of the venue. “Dubai is hot,” he wrote on his post implying the difficult conditions that he has to face as he gets in the next month or so.
Ben Stokes will have to undergo a six-day mandatory quarantine before he is allowed to join his squad. In these six days, the Royals play Mumbai Indians on October 6, in match 20 of the tournament.
The Royals are currently placed at number six in the points table. Stokes joined the Royals in 2018. In 22 matches for the side, he has scored 319 runs at an average of 17.72 and a strike rate of 123 almost. He has taken 14 wickets at an average of 35.14 and an economy rate close to 10.
