Mumbai Indians surpass Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020 at Abu Dhabi. Kieron Pollard and his men produced a flawless performance and ultimate won with ease.
Chasing a target of 165, it was Suryakumar Yadav who once again put on a show. After not getting picked in the T20 squad of India he looked extra determined to prove a point. Once again this season he let his bat do all the talking as he starred in the victory of MI.
The right-handed paced his batting to perfection and scored an unbeaten 79 runs from just 43 runs. His authoritative knock included 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. On the day the RCB bowling attack just had to answers and seemed clueless against Yadav. Eventually, the defending champions chase down the target with 5 balls to spare.

Earlier in the match, RCB failed to gain from the start given by their openers. Joshua Phillipe and Devdutt Padikkal batted out of their skins and put RCB in the driving seat early in the match.
However then Jasprit Bumrah took centre stage and changed the match in favour of his side. The lead fast bowler in his 4 overs spell gave away just 14 runs and picked 3 wickets including that of Virat Kohli.
After that, the RCB kept losing wickets at regular intervals and posted a below-par total of 164. In the end, it proved to be an easy chase courtesy of a splendid batting effort from Suryakumar Yadav.
Here’s what the winning captain Kieron Pollard of Mumbai Indians said in the post-match presentation
“I am big on match-ups in a way. I also watch a lot of cricket. I took a punt and bowled at AB. I could have waited for the last over but if someone has to go for runs I thought I’d take it. Bumrah continues to keep standing up throughout the tournament. But again we have been playing total team cricket. Somebody is always there to pick up the slack. Imagine someone batting at that strike rate after two early wickets,” Kieron Pollard said.

“Deep down inside he (Suryakumar Yadav) must be very very disappointed to not have donned the blue for India. He just keeps getting better. Again as an individual if you keep staying consistent, you will be rewarded. Nothing happens before its time. There is discussion around my batting position, I would love to be up there, taking the runs and hitting the runs, but we have to do what is the best for the team,” added Kieron Pollard.
