After a long wait of 5 long months, followers of Virat Kohli eventually saw him bat as RCB conducted heir first net session. The entire RCB squad were put through the paces as they fine-tuned their skills and prepared for the upcoming IPL season.

RCB is currently based in Dubai and were allowed to step out only after completing their six-day quarantine period obligated by BCCI. New RCB coach Mike Hesson and Simon Katich kept a close eye on on the proceedings as RCB sweated it out in their first outdoor training gathering.

Felt like 6 days – Kohli after first net session

The Royal Challengers captain Virat Kohli seemed satisfied after he had a training session after 5 months. Later he tweeted, it felt like 6 days when he got inside the nets.

“Been 5 months since the last time I stepped onto the field. Felt like 6 days when I got into the nets”, wrote Kohli on his official Twitter account.

 

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also added that he was slightly nervous before had a hit in the nets but eventually was happy to step on the field after a long time. The 31-year-old pointed out that his training during the lockdown allowed him to be quick with his reflexes while batting.

 

“Much better than expected, to be honest, I was pretty scared, haven’t picked up a bat in the last five months but yeah, it just came out better than I expected. I have trained quite a bit during the lockdown so I am feeling quite fit and that helps as you can react better”.

“That’s a big plus if you come heavier into the season so the body is not in the right shape and that starts playing in your mind,” Kohli said in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of RCB.

Moreover, the Virat Kohli led RCB will once again be chasing their first IPL title. The popular franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs last year and decided to change their support staff for IPL 2020. The 13th edition of the league will be played in UAE this year from September 19-November 10 in a bio-secure bubble.
