Kolkata Knight Riders are playing against Kings XI Punjab in Abu Dhabi in match 24 of IPL 2020. KKR are at number four in the points table, while are Punjab are languishing at the bottom of the table as the two teams go head to head. While KKR beat CSK coming into this game, Punjab lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami cleaned up Rahul Tripathi (4 off 10) in just the third over of the KKR innings to give his team a good start.

Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first in Abu Dhabi. However, they did not have a good start to their innings as they lost the in-form Tripathi in just the third over of their innings. He was dismissed off the fourth ball of the third innings by Mohammed Shami with an incoming delivery.

He set up Tripathi beautifully by bowling him a short-pitched delivery before the wicket ball. The ball was landed on the good length by Shami which came in after pitching. The ball before his dismissal, Tripathi pulled Shami off the front foot for a boundary. You can watch the video below.

Meanwhile, just after Tripathi’s dismissal, KKR lost Nitish Rana in a terrible mix-up with Gill as KKR lost two inside the powerplay.

It’s a must-win game for Kings XI Punjab, who are placed at the bottom of the table at the moment. While for KKR, this is an important game to keep their winning run-on.

Meanwhile, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik is under the pump despite their win over CSK in the last game. Karthik has had diminishing returns with the bat this season for Kolkata.

However, his ploy to hold Sunil Narine back against CSK turned out to be a masterstroke for which he was praised as well.
