Shikhar Dhawan’s Maiden IPL Ton Power Delhi Capitals’ Win vs CSK

Dhawan, too had luck running on his side as he was dropped four times in the course of his innings. Delhi capitals lost some key wickets in the back end of their chase. Coming into bat at number seven after the fall of Alex Carey’s wicket in the 19th over, Axar Patel scored 21 off 5 deliveries taking 17 off Jadeja’s final over to win the game for his side.

CSK managed to slow the game down taking key wickets at the death, but Patel’s innings was a body blow to MS Dhoni’s team who have lost yet another encounter in the Dream 11 IPL 2020.

MS Dhoni revealed the reason behind giving the ball to Ravindra Jadeja in the final over. He said that Dwayne Bravo was struggling with a niggle which is why he had to either go with Karn Sharma or Ravindra Jadeja. He chose Jadeja.

What Was the Turning Point in the Game?

The game had a few turning points. From dopping Shikhar Dhawan four times, to Axar Patel playing the cameo to Chennai making Jadeja bowl in the final over, all of them came together to help Delhi’s cause at the end of the game.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan scored his maiden IPL ton, taking the longest time to get there, in terms of innings. he got to his landmark ton in his 167th innings in the IPL. he was elated to have got there finally. He was also chosen as the Man of the Match for his knock.

“It’s very special (first IPL ton). Playing for 13 years, so very special. Really happy. At the start of the tournament, I was hitting the ball but I wasn’t converting the 20s or 30s into fifties. Once you start doing that, you get more confidence. I just want to continue the same form and make the most of it” said a very satisfied Shikhar Dhawan.
