Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was ranked as ‘T20 Ka King’ by Sports Flashes, India’s first online sports radio channel. Dhoni beat the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh to claim the title. The CSK skipper has had a tough time in this IPL season, losing five for his first seven games. However, with the league’s second phase staring today, CSK has a chance to set things right. More the 12 lakh people participated in this survey in the various social media portals of Sports Flashes, as per its official statement.

A total of 128 cricketers were selected from different cricket team and was a part of 127 matches which included different stages. The cricketers selected based on their past performances and their current IPL values for the respective teams they play for by an expert panel and commentators from the radio channel itself. The voting for all these 127 matches was contested on social media handles of Sports Flashes.

MS Dhoni Ranked ‘T20 Ka King’ By Sports Flashes

The survey was undertaken in stages similar to the cricket leagues which were live for the last 32 days. MS Dhoni beat Yuvraj Singh in the semifinals based on the parameters set by the experts. Dhoni then went onto beat Virat Kohli in the final to win the title of ‘T20 Ka King’.

On the survey, Raman Raheja, founder, Sports Flashes said, “This result shows that even after announcing his retirement from international cricket, fans still consider MS Dhoni as the king of cricket and value all that he has done for his country in the past; he is a true legend of the game.”

He further said that the survey proved people’s love for the game and how much they follow these icon players.

“The survey was undertaken to understand the engagement level of cricket lovers with their icons. 40 lakh views were achieved in 32 days. This shows cricket cannot be displaced from its position as the favourite sport in India,” he further added.

Chennai Super Kings have seven more matches in the league stage to pave their path for the playoffs. They are the only team to make it to the IPL playoffs every season in the history of the tournament.
