After a couple of wins, Royal Challengers Bangalore went down against the consistent Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Chasing 197 runs, Bangalore managed to just score 137, falling short by 59 runs. Reacting to the loss, Virat Kohli admitted they had failed to put up a complete performance in any regard.
Chasing another big total, Royal Challengers Bangalore looked never in line to pull off the victory. They lost wickets at regular intervals and credit to Delhi Capitals bowlers for standing up against one of the best batting side. Skipper Virat Kohli was the highest run-scorer for the side with 43 runs from 39 deliveries.

However, he never looked in rhythm with wickets falling from the other end. Kagiso Rabada once against starred with the ball picking four wickets shelling away only 24 runs. Anrich Nortje also continued with his good form alongside Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin to restrict Royal Challengers Bangalore to 137 runs to record consecutive wins.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals opener – Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan went all guns blazing. He went hard at everything at their disposal to register their highest PowerPlay total in IPL 2020 in the UAE. Shaw, in particular, looked in the mood.
The openers added 68 runs in just 6.4 overs before Mohammad Siraj, who is only playing his first game struck. Dhawan also followed the suit before Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer to have them at 92 for three. However, back-to-back wickets didn’t hurt Delhi Capitals much as Marcus Stoinis ran a rampage as Virat Kohli looked clueless.

Stoinis remained unbeaten on 53 runs as Delhi managed to post 196 for four in their quota of 20 overs which was enough to take them to the top of the points table of IPL 2020.
Virat Kohli pointed out that the fielding errors had a bad impact on the game and also the bowlers failed to execute the plans. RCB skipper admitted that it was not a complete performance from the boys and they will have to bounce back strongly.
“I think they got off to a great start in the first six then we pulled it back in the next 8 overs and the last phase again got away from us,” Virat Kohli said. “Those important chances in between we need to grab when the opportunity comes our way, it is not like we are dropping half chances, we are dropping sitters and those things hurt you.
The execution with the ball towards the end could have been better and with the bat as well. Not a complete performance in any regard today,” he added.
