IPL 2020: Sanjay Manjrekar Chooses Between Prithvi Shaw And Shubman Gill

Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill played a key role in India’s U-19 triumph in 2018. Their talent and potential was then realised by Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, who roped the two young boys respectively. In the last two years both of them has played a key role in the success of the two teams and have shown the world what they are capable of.

So far, Gill has scored 753 runs in 34 games with the help of 6 fifties. On the other hand, Shaw has scored 800 runs in 33 games with the help of 6 fifties. In this season as well, a lot is expected them from the two in the ongoing IPL season.

Meanwhile, former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has compared the two recently in a Twitter interaction and opined on who will have a longer run in international cricket.

“See, he got 54 in NZ in Tests in swinging conditions. Has 2 fifties and 1 hundred in 7 Test innings, that’s quite impressive…so…he is a work in progress with immense potential” answered Sanjay Manjrekar when a fan questioned on Shaw’s technique against pacers early on.

Meanwhile, another user than joined the conversation saying Gill is more balanced while Shaw is a bit too flashy for his liking.

“Gill clearly looks more organised. Time will tell, who manages better in the long term, all formats. One of the fun things as cricket followers is to see how talent evolves” said Sanjay Manjrekar.

As far as this IPL is concerned, Shaw has scored 202 runs from 8 games with two fifties to his name. Gill has scored 254 runs from seven games with two fifties to his name as well.
