Suryakumar Yadav Not Inferior to Anyone-Virender Sehwag

“It was a phenomenal match. The innings played by Suryakumar Yadav was incredible. He showed Virat Kohli that he isn’t inferior to anyone (in reference to the selection snub for the Australia tour). There was a moment where Suryakumar played a shot towards Kohli and then two had a stare-off where the former asserted once again that he doesn’t fear anything or anyone,” said Sehwag.

Suryakumar Yadav, not included in the Indian limited-overs squads for the Australia tour, has become a hot topic of debate especially in between his ongoing success for MI. He has been supported by cricket fans and experts alike for his recent performances. His non-inclusion in the squads has been criticised by both as well.

“There have been numerous players in the domestic circuit who didn’t get the opportunity in the Indian team despite top performances. I feel IPL is a platform where you will get opportunities if you are doing well. Varun Chakravarthy is a fine example of the same,” Sehwag added.

Sehwag further pointed out that none of Surya’s counterparts are as consistent as he is which is why he deserves a chance all the more.

“I strongly feel Suryakumar should get his opportunity because none of his competitors are as consistent, be it Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey or Rishabh Pant,” former Indian opener concluded saying.
