The Kings XI Punjab eventually won against Royal Challengers Bangalore in dramatic style at Sharjah. Overall it was a complete team performance from KXIP as they registered their second win of the season.

Chasing 171 it looked like a walk in the park for top 3 batsmen of KXIP. Skipper KL Rahul carried on from where he left in his previous match against RCB. At the top, the duo of Rahul and Mayank Agarwal took the match away from RCB as they batted with great authority.

Former RCB legend Chris Gayle too made an instant impact in his first match of IPL 2020. The ‘Universe Boss’ took his time before unleashing and scored yet another half-century in IPL 2020 while KL Rahul anchored the innings.

KXIP Win On The Last Ball Against RCB

In the end, KXIP chased down the target one the bast ball of the match and keep their hopes alive of progressing further in IPL 2020. Nicholas Pooran managed to hit a full toss from Yuzvendra Chahal for a six and sealed the win for his side.

Earlier in the match RCB started well with the ball but lost impetus in the middle order. Surprisingly hero of their last match AB de Villiers batted at 6 which raised a lot of questions.

This Has Been A Roller-Coaster Ride – KL Rahul

Virat Kohli tried his level best to take RCB to a match-winning total but wasn’t successful. The KXIP bowlers used the slow pitch to their advantage in the last few overs as RCB could only make 171 runs which proved to be a gettable total in the end.

Here’s what the winning captain KL Rahul who was also the man of the match had to say in the post-match presentation.

“I have no idea, heartbeat the highest it can be. I don’t even have words. We knew we had to scrape and get over the line. We are a far better side than where we are in the points table. It just got too close for comfort, happy that we crossed the line. As a group, we have been disappointing. It can get frustrating. Our skills were good, but we didn’t capitalize on the big moments. It becomes a habit – winning and not winning,” KL Rahul said.

“There are ups and downs and this has been the roller-coaster. We wanted this win to get some confidence in the group. It’s my first time as captain, for me it’s always about winning. The personal performances haven’t been on mind too much. He’s (Gayle) not been feeling well in the last couple of weeks. But, he is hungry even at 41”.

“He always wanted to play from the first day. He was training hard, he wanted be out on the park. It was a tough call to make and not make him play. It’s important to keep the lion hungry. Wherever he bats, he’s dangerous. He’s taken it up as a challenge as well. He’ll still be intimidating”, KL Rahul said post the win against RCB.
