West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee has sent her best wishes to Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of their campaign opener against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi. They are the last team to get their season underway in IPL 2020.
“‘Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo’ has already been India’s spirit in 2020, fighting crises without breaking a sweat. Another set of champions hit the field today, trying to bring joy to every home. My best wishes to @KKRiders & dearest @iamsrk as they begin their IPL campaign.#KKRHaiTaiyaar,” Mamata Banerjee tweeted.

Mamata Bannerjee Wishes Good Luck To KKR Ahead of MI Clash
The Bengal CM sending in her best wishes will augur well for KKR against MI, who have had the better of them in recent times.
In the last 10 matches between the two teams, Kolkata Knight Riders have won just one game against the defending champions. The win came last year at Eden Gardens when Andre Russell scored a 40 ball 80 to help KKR finish on 232, last season’s highest team total.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians started off their campaign with a defeat against CSK. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored just 12 in the first game. Heading into the game against KKR, Rohit is 90 short of getting to 5000 IPL runs after Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina.

Rohit has scored 4910 runs in the IPL at an average of 31.47. He has hit 36 fifties and one hundred in the process. He is also sitting at 194 sixes in the IPL and has a chance to go past 200 against KKR. If he does so, he will join Chris Gayle (326), AB de Villiers (214), and MS Dhoni (209) in the list.
Mumbai Indians are yet to win a game in the UAE. They lost all their five games in 2014 and started their new season with another loss against CSK. However, they have the upper hand over KKR in the IPL. The head to headcount between the two teams reads 19-6 in Mumbai’s favour.
