IPL 2021: Fan Makes A Special Request To Rohit Sharma For T20 World Cup

Rohit Sharma

India is all set to face arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, on 24th October at the Dubai International Stadium. Fans from all around the world are excited about the high voltage encounter. The tickets for the game were sold out minutes after they went on sale online. The anticipated wait time to purchase a ticket through the internet gateway was more than an hour. Thousands of fans flocked to the website in the hopes of acquiring a ticket before anybody else.

Several fans are still hunting for a ticket, with some going so far as to ask individuals on social media whether they would be ready to sell their tickets. One such fan was spotted in Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium during the MI vs SRH match. The fan was seen holding a banner that read:

“Rohit

Need 2 tkts for IND v/s PAK

Pleeeease….”

The neighbouring nations last faced each other at the 2019 ODI World Cup where Indian comfortably defeated Pakistan by 89 runs. Rohit Sharma played a match-winning knock of 140 runs.

Mumbai Fail To Qualify For The Play-offs

Meanwhile, the 5-time champions Mumbai Indians failed to qualify for the playoffs this year. In their last league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, they needed to win by a huge margin of 171 runs or more. With the way they started their innings, it looked like the team was up for the challenge.

Ishan Kishan played a blistering knock of 84 runs in just 32 balls, which reminded everyone of the innings played by Suresh Raina (87 off 25) in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2014. Suryakumar Yadav also played a classy innings of 82 runs. Eventually, Mumbai reached a total of 235 runs and this meant that they needed to stop SRH at a score of 65 or less.

However, the Hyderabad openers didn’t let that happen as they added 64 runs for the first wicket and helped their team score 70 runs within the first 6 overs. Skipper Manish Pandey stayed not out till the end of the innings but regular fall of wickets meant that Mumbai won the match by 42 runs.

So finally, Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore become the four teams that have qualified for the playoffs in this season of the Indian Premier League.
