Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen is a part of the IPL broadcast team in Dubai. Ahead of the match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, KP has predicted something big in favour of Delhi Capitals. The side enters into this game being on the second position in the points table. Meanwhile, SRH are placed last in the points table.

Kevin Pietersen during the pre-match show on Star Sports said that the Delhi Capitals bench can beat a weakened Sunrisers outfit. They have weakened all the more with T Natarajan testing COVID positive ahead of the game. He is in isolation at the moment and so are the six close contacts with him.

It was Kevin Pietersen who did the pitch report ahead of the same saying that the team batting winning the toss should chose to chase. he further said that the Delhi Capitals pacers can pose problems for the SRH batters.

“It’s the same surface that was used for the last game. In the last two games 25 wickets fell for the seamers and 2 to the spinners. DC have two of the premium fast bowlers in the world and the wicket is great. They say the temperature is around 36 degrees, but it feels like 46. Win the toss and bowl.”

Shikhar Dhawan and Rashid Khan gave a glimpse of the preparations of their respective teams ahead of this clash. Here is what they said.

Shikhar Dhawan- “We have to start from scratch, because of the break. All that momentum, we’ll have to build that again. But we guys are confident about doing that. I have worked on my strike rate, it has been a conscious effort from my side. My strike rate was around 130-odd before, but it has increased to 145-odd now. My motive is to make an impact. It’s not necessary to take unwanted risks, and as experienced player I need to calm the other young players down while we are batting out in the middle.”

Rashid Khan- “Nothing much, we know we have nothing to lose, go there, take each game as a final, enjoy yourself, entertain the fans. Good that IPL is back, gives us a chance to test our skills. We need to have self-belief, give our 100% stay positive and that will remove all fears. That’s what we discussed in the team meeting, we need to just put in our best effort. I keep it simple, I have my areas to bowl, try and be consistent and I don’t put too much of pressure on myself – line and length is the most important thing for me”.

SRH have won just one out of their first seven games making the second math all the more important for them.
