With the BCCI announcing the addition of two new teams in IPL 2022, IPL 2021 will see a mini-auction before the season. The IPL 2021 mini auctions will be a chance for the various franchises to fill the loopholes and in the process make the team stronger in a particular department or two. All the players are on the lookout for utility players who can come into use for the season only. Meanwhile, here is a look at five players who are in the ICC Top 10 rankings and how they can be useful for various teams in the upcoming mini auctions.

Dawid Malan

The England left-hander is currently the top-ranked T20I batsman in the ICC rankings. the southpaw has smashed 855 runs in just 19 T20I games at a whopping average of 53.44 and superb strike rate of 149.48. He might pip Pat Cummins as the costliest overseas player in the upcoming ICC rankings with various teams in need of a good opener at the top of the order. Malan can also bat at number three which is his preferable position for his national team.

Rassie van der Dussen

He was the only South African batsman to score over 300 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup last year. Dussen is currently placed at number five with 744 rating points. He is a handly batsman lower-down the order. The 31-year-old can turn on the style in the T20 format where he has registered three tons and 24 half-centuries already in 117 domestic appearances.

Colin Munro

He has played on the IPL before for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals. However, he was not quite able to produce his best which is why he ran out of favour. He was a part of the Kiwi squad which played three T20Is against Pakistan which they won 2-1. An impact player, Munro has three T20I tons to his name and is a big hitter in the game. he might be on the radar of teams like KKR and DC who are in search of power-hitters at the top.

Tim Seifert

Seifert recently played in the T20I series against Pakistan scoring 176 runs at an average and strike-rate of 88 and 139.68 respectively. He also scored two fifties with a best of 84. He is currently ranked number nine in the ICC T20I ratings. He was signed as a replacement by KKR for the injured Ali Khan who became the first USA cricketer to be signed in the IPL. KKR might unleash Seifert at the top next season with Shubman Gill.

Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid has been playing international cricket for England since the last decade almost and yet he has never played the IPL. The various franchises have ignored the England leg spinner despite having good numbers in T20I cricket. He is number three in the lates t ICC T20I rankings for bowlers with 700 rating points. Adil Rashid has till now featured in 51 T20I games for England scalping 51 wickets at an economy of 7.57 and average of 25.4. The leggie has a penchant for breaking partnerships and choking the opposition in the middle-overs.
