The second phase of India Premier League (IPL) 2021 is all set to begin in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Meanwhile, the remainder of IPL 2021 will be played in three different venues including Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. One of the prominent names who was missing from IPL 2021 was Shreyas Iyer who is now all set to return to the marquee T20 event.

Notably, Shreyas Iyer is currently in UAE, and he was spotted in Dubai with his team Delhi Capitals taking part in the practice session at ICC Academy ground. The official Instagram handle of Delhi Capitals shared a video in which Iyer was seen hitting a humongous sixer. Delhi Capitals captioned the post:

“@shreyas41 is back to doing magic on the field 🪄🎩P.S. Guess where the ball landed at the end of the video 💥#YehHaiNayiDilli #IPL2021”

Shreyas Iyer to return to action during 2nd half of IPL 2021

Notably, Shreyas Iyer suffered an injury earlier this year ahead of the IPL 2021. The 26-year-old faced a severe shoulder injury in the home series against England in March. Meanwhile, While fielding he dislocated his shoulder due to which he had to undergo surgery. For the same reason, the star batter missed the entire series and was ruled out of the first phase of IPL.

In his absence, Delhi Capitals (DC) handed over the captaincy responsibility to wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.

“My shoulder, yes, I think the healing process is done. Now it’s the last stage of achieving strength and range. So that’s going to take about a month and the training is obviously going on. Other than that, I feel, I will be there in the IPL,” Iyer said on The Grade Cricketer’s Podcast.

Team Delhi Capitals will be in dilemma as to whom to give captaincy in the second phase of IPL 2021. As under Rishabh Pant, DC was placed number one in the points Table before IPL 2021 was suspended. Talking about Iyer’s achievement he took DC to the finals of IPL 2020.
