MS Dhoni won his fourth title as Chennai Super Kings skipper by beating Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 final in Dubai on Friday. With that game, the season has drawn to a close with the T20 World Cup knocking on the door. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Ashish Nehra has picked their favorite moments from the overall season.

Talking to Cricbuzz, both the former Indian players chose their favorite moments from season 14. Virender Sehwag picked Ruturaj Gaikwad’s maiden IPL ton as his favourite moment of the season. The CSK opener was batting on 95 facing the final ball of the innings. He clubbed Mustafizur Rahman for a six over square leg to get to the three-figure and did that in some style.

“Gaikwad scoring 100 coz Jadeja almost dented his chance to score 100. I have also gone through same situation, so can understand that” Sehwag said.

Gaikwad also won the Orange Cap for the season scoring 635 runs in 16 games at an average of 45.36 and a strike rate of 136.27 with four fifties and a century.

Ashish Nehra’s favourite moment in the IPL was the expression of Sunil Narine after he picked up the wicket of Gaikwad in the final. He dismissed the CSK opener for 32 getting him caught at long-off. The KKR mystery spinner ended with 16 wickets from 14 games. Together with Varun Chakravarthy, the KKR spin duo picked up 34 wickets in the season.
