Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is having a tough time in IPL 2021. In 8 matches so far he has scored just 107 runs at an average of 13.38. He was dropped from the squad after the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in which he scored just nine off 12 balls. He was almost in tears after another disappointing outing and Virat Kohli was seen consoling him.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians came back to winning ways after beating Punjab Kings in their last match chasing a modest total. Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 40 off 30 balls to take his team home. After the game, Sachin Tendulkar came into the Mumbai Indians dressing room to congratulate the team.
In an awkward moment, Ishan Kishan was surprised to see the Master Blaster sitting in front of him. He was surprised to see him much like a student would after seeing a teacher.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan is a part of the Indian T20 World Cup squad that has been announced for the mega event later this year. His and Suryakumar Yadav’s inconsistent form has got the management thinking at the moment. The management can still make changes to the squad as the mast date to submit the players’ list is October 10.
Delhi Capitals batsman Shreyas Iyer is likely to be added to India’s T20 World Cup squad after concerns of form over a few players already included. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are part of the original squad but their recent form in the IPL has made the BCCI selectors rethink about retaining them in the original squad. Meanwhile, Iyer along with Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are a part of the reserves currently.
Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan’s Form A Concern Ahead Of T20 World Cup
“Yes, it is a bit of a concern but we still have few matches left in IPL to get them back in form. Hopefully, they will. Suryakumar has been amongst runs for India so he is not a big concern at the moment. Ishan Kishan too did well in Sri Lanka. Virat also spoke to him on Sunday and let’s see how it goes,” a BCCI source told InsideSport.
