IPL 2021: Watch: Sarfaraz Khan Hits Bullseye To Catch AB De Villiers Short Of His Crease

Punjab Kings are playing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first of the two games on a super Sunday. While RCB are on 14 points Punjab is on 10 and are threatening to take the fourth spot in the playoffs. However,  things have got easier for the Punjab Kings after AB De Villiers getting runout in the 18th over, as looked in good touch. It has restricted the RCB to a low total of 164/7.

The incident took place in the 18th over of the match, AB De Villiers smashed the ball to the cover region. Sarfaraz Khan was a substitute fielder standing at the cover on the 30-yard circle charged at the ball and with his vision being blocked to only 1 stump he was able to knock the bails off while AB de Villiers was well short of the crease.

RCB post 164 runs at the end of their 20 overs

The RCB skipper Virat Kohli and his opening partner Devdutt Padikkal got to a flying start by scoring 57 runs in the first 7 overs. Ravi Bishnoi was inches away from taking the first breakthrough of Padikkal trying to reverse sweep him over point but a controversial decision by the third empire saved him.

Soon after Moises Henriques came into the party and turned the match upside down in favour of the Punjab Kings. In his very first over he clinched the wicket of skipper Virat Kohli by knocking his middle stump. And soon after in the same over, Moises Henriques got hold of the experienced Dan Christian. He was caught in the backward point region by Sarfaraz Khan.

He also picked Padikall’s wicket in his next over. Later on, Maxwell and AB De Villiers were all set to take RCB to a big total but Punjab King’s fielders didn’t give any chances to both the explosive batsmen.

The Punjab Kings have restricted them for 164 at the loos of 7. They look pretty comfortable at the moment to win this contest and earn 2 points to be in the contingent for qualifying for the IPL 2021 playoffs.
