Former South African cricketer Shaun Pollock has questioned Kedar Jadhav’s selection in the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s playing XI, despite his dismal performance. The right-handed batsman failed once again as he was dismissed for 12 runs against the Punjab Kings on Saturday.

In the Indian Premier League 2021 season, Kedar Jadhav has scored only 55 runs in 6 matches at an average of 13.75. While discussing the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings match, Shaun Pollock criticized Kedar Jadhav for his poor performance in the Indian Premier League.

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Pollock said:

“In the batting, David Warner was out of the side, he’s come back in. You can get into bad form. Manish Pandey tried to regroup given the situation but Kedar Jadhav, over all these years… He gets a decent salary to come out and play.”

“We really are still asking – when is his performance coming to justify his continuous selection in the side? It is difficult to pick out one individual but over a space of eight games, surely people need to be producing more than what we’ve seen,” he added.

Players are given everything they require, at some stage, they have to start producing the goods: Shaun Pollock

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are at the bottom of the points table. They have just two points, after losing eight out of the nine matches played so far in the Indian Premier League 2021 season.

The Kane Williamson-led side is out of the qualification race, owing to their lackluster performance. Shaun Pollock questioned the player’s performance, despite them getting all that they require. He said,

“What are the players actually doing to try and help them perform? You have a relaxed environment and you give them everything that they require. They are paid good money and, at some stage, players have got to start producing the goods.”
