The IPL 2022 is all set to be including 2 new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow making it a 10-team tournament. Ahmedabad and Lucknow join the other eight established cities in the league to make it a 10-team tournament from the IPL 2022 season for the very first time. The Sanjeev Goenka Group have picked Lucknow as their home base for INR 7090 crores, while owners of CVC Capitals have bagged Ahmedabad for INR 5166 crores.

Besides, the Board of Cricket Control of Indian (BCCI) have announced the retention rules ahead of IPL 2022. As per the new rules for the IPL 2022, old teams can retain four players ahead of the 2022 auction. After the list of retained players is finalised, the two new franchises will get the first choice from the rest of the teams ahead of the auction where they can pick up a maximum of 3 players.

However, there are two different forms of retaining the players. Either team can keep two Indian and two overseas players or three Indians and one overseas player. On that note, let us take a look at 4players SRH can Retain ahead of IPL 2022 auction:

#1. Rashid Khan (Afganistan)

Rashid Khan has been one of the most prominent and consistent bowlers for the Sunrisers Hyderabad over the years. He made his IPL in 2017 and has not looked back since then. Rashid Khan is known as one of the best leg-spin bowlers of all time.

The leg-spinner turned a few losing matches into memorable wins with both the ball and bat in hand and has equal rights in SRH’s overall journey over the years, especially when they reached the finals in 2018.

Rashid is the kind of player every team dreams to have, SRH can keep hold of him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega Auction.

#2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn’t been in the greatest of form for quick sometime now, but we know how much credibility his presence affects the team positively. In the powerplay, with the new ball, Kumar can be lethal.

He can swing the ball both ways and decide the batsmen in no time. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kumar can be one of the experienced senior fast bowlers who can lead the attack from the front and can groom the youngsters coming in the side.

#3. T. Natarajan (India)

T. Natarajan has shown us what kind of bowler he is in the IPL 2020 as well as the Australia series. He’s one of the bowlers which we can see playing for India regularly in the future. His line and length at the death overs are extraordinary and the use of the slow ball is excellent.

He can be retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad which can help the team at the death and the middle overs too. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Natarajan make a great pair and will be interesting to see how it goes on in the IPL 2022 mega Auction.

#4. Jonny Bairstow (England)

The English wicketkeeping batsman is one of the most destructive batsmen in modern cricket. The kind of start he gives at the start is what a team actually needs. He’s had a very healthy average and a decent strike rate of 150 in the Indian leg of the IPL 2021.

The English batsman is worth retaining looking at this batting and wicketkeeping skill and Sunrisers Hyderabad should surely take Jonny Bairstow into consideration.
