Moeen Ali CSK

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Moeen Ali is yet to receive his visa for his arrival in India for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. He has been waiting for the clearance of his visa for over 20 days.

The Chennai Super Kings retained Moeen Ali before the IPL auctions for a sum of INR 8 crores. His visa clearance issue has left the franchise fretting. However, they are hopeful of a solution being found very soon. Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of the Chennai Super Kings explained the situation, he said, as quoted by Cricbuzz,

“He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been a frequent traveler to India and yet he has not got the travel papers. We are hoping he will join the team soon. He has told us that he will take the very next flight after getting the papers.

Kasi Viswanathan further added that the BCCI has taken cognizance of the issue and is working towards solving it. He said, “Even the BCCI has got itself involved to help us. We are hoping that he will get the papers by Monday.”

Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings squad is in Surat for a pre-season training camp. The likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa have begun practice ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 season.

Gujarat Titans coaching unit member too awaits visa clearance

Just like CSK all-rounder Moeen Ali, Gujarat Titans coaching staff member, Abdul Naim, too is awaiting visa clearance. Naim was roped in by the Gujarat Titans along with Mithun Manhas to join their coaching unit.

Abul Naim is in the UK and is awaiting visa clearance to join the Gujarat Titans squad, which has already assembled in Ahmedabad. An official of the Gujarat Titans franchise said, “We are sure the issue will get resolved soon.

Both the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans will soon leave for Maharashtra. The Indian Premier League 2022 league stages will take place across four venues in Maharashtra. It commences on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
