A couple of COVID-19 cases in the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp, including all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has caused a lot of uproars ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Wednesday. The game, which was originally scheduled in Pune, was rescheduled to the Brabourne Stadium to avoid further mishaps.
Everything is not going well for the Capitals, having won only two games in five matches. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw have given them valuable starts, but the middle order has failed to kick on to build on the foundation. They are likely to bring in Sarfaraz Khan in place of Mitchell Marsh, who hasn’t had many opportunities to prove his mettle.
DC will also ponder on Rovam Powell’s dismal form with both bat and ball. The management is likely to run out of patience if he fails to deliver and live up to his potential against PBKS, who are the most aggressive side in the powerplay.
However, they have lacked quality in the final overs. Barring Liam Livingstone, most other batters have struggled to maintain any momentum for a strong finish. Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith have particularly struggled to hit the right tempo at the death, which has not worked too well for them.
