IPL 2023 Auction All Set To Take Place On December 23 In Kochi

Cricket fans are ready for the mini-auction for next year’s IPL which is all set to take place on December 23 in Kochi. The news came a day after newly-appointed Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Dhumal shared his wish to make the league the leading domestic tournament in the world.

However, the ten featuring teams have already started preparing their squads for next year’s mega event, with the deadline to retain and release the players from their respective IPL squads coming fast as well.

Each team has been given an extra prize of Rs 5 crore (INR 50 million), increasing the pursue value to Rs 95 crore (INR 950 million) for the 2023 mini-auction as well.

Notably, Punjab Kings will go for the auctions with the largest leftover sum from last year’s mega auction- INR 3.45 crore (approx. US $425,000). Their four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in second place with INR 2.95 crore (approx. US $358,000) and Royal Challengers Bangalore with 1.55 crore (approx. US $188,000) left in their kitty.

Kolkata Knight Riders appoint Ryan ten Doeschate as fielding coach for next IPL season

Earlier, two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders shared that the appointment of Ryan ten Doeschate as fielding coach for the upcoming edition of the IPL, while the former fielding coach James Foster has done well as the post of assistant coach for the upcoming season as well.

KKR will hope to put up a better show in the upcoming season after a below-par campaign last year.
