David Warner advised the Delhi Capitals to stop losing wickets in large numbers after their six-wicket loss to the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday in the IPL 2023.
To perform better in the Indian Premier League (IPL), David Warner advised Delhi Capitals (DC) that they “shouldn’t lose wickets in clumps.” At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, April 11, DC fell to Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets and failed to pick up a victory in the ongoing competition.
After being given a target of 173 to reach, MI easily won with the final ball. Rohit Sharma earned Player of the Match honours after making 65 runs, including six fours and four sixes, before being bowled by Mustafizur Rahman.
Anrich Nortje bowled valiantly in the final over, needing only five runs to prevent a loss for the Capitals. Nortje, Mustafizur, and Rohit received praise from Warner for their unwavering efforts.
The last three IPL games we have seen have been incredible, as you can see. Today I got the bad end of it, but the guys were great. At the top of the order, Rohit played an excellent blow. We anticipate world-class performance from Nortje. Mustafiz as well.
Warner also mentioned elevating Axar Patel, who scored 54 runs off 25 balls while hitting four fours and five sixes. Despite failing to make a breakthrough Axar Patel bowled well.
We can take some positives from the last three games, but we shouldn’t consistently lose wickets. Given his ball-striking technique, Axar ought to bat in the top four positions. There are a lot of encouraging things from the last three games we’ve played, he continued.
With a current net run rate of -1.576, the Capitals are at the bottom of the standings. Delhi Capitals are currently at the bottom of the league table with straight 4 losses.
