The Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) has played 18 games so far in its 16th season. After these 18 games, the outstanding performances of young domestic cricketers who pleasantly surprised cricket observers with their game have become clear.
These five cricket players are likely to impress everyone:
1. Tilak Varma – Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have made a new IPL discovery in the Hyderabad scout. In the first game of IPL 2023, the left-handed batter displayed his talent by hammering the RCB bowlers mercilessly, hitting 84 off 46 deliveries.
Varma made his debut with Mumbai last year, but his batting strike rate was 131 at the time, and he played in 14 games with an average score of 36.09 points. The performance wasn’t too bad.
Varma scored 41 runs in 29 balls, including four sixes and one boundary, in Mumbai Indians’ victory over Delhi Capitals in their most recent game.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal – Rajasthan Royals
Since his IPL career began in 2020, Jaiswal has been a member of the Rajasthan Royals. Jaiswal averaged 25 runs per game in the 10 matches he played up until last year, with a strike rate of 138.
Jaiswal is playing the game knowing what his team needs from him in the first six overs. In the most recent game against Delhi Capitals (DC), he scored a magnificent 60 runs off just 31 balls, giving the team a strong start.
3. Suyash Sharma – KKR
The best spinners in Indian cricket were produced by the Kolkata Knight Riders team. The team has discovered yet another talent in Suyash Sharma after giving Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy a global platform.
Sharma, who is from the Delhi neighbourhood of Bhajanpura, is surprisingly yet to play for his state side in a First Class match, a List A match, or a T20 match.
The KKR management noticed him and invited him to a trial at the KKR academy in Mumbai before the auctions. And as a result, he has purchased at the auctions for Rs 20 lakh.
4. Sai Sudarshan – Gujarat Titans
The all-rounder, who is from Chennai, has played in only 8 games so far in the competition, five of which were his debut with Gujarat Titans. Sai Sudarshan, however, averaged 47 runs per game while scoring 282 runs in these 8 games.
His batting strike rate is above 133 this year, and he has already scored 133 runs in three games with an average of 68 points per game. Sudarshan, who bats at position number 3, has scored two half-centuries in his last two games.
Sudarshan, however, was purchased by GT for his base price of Rs 20 lakh, and if his performance keeps improving at this rate, next year he might reach crore-level earnings.
5. Prabhsimran Singh – PBKS
With Punjab Kings (PBKS), the 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter made his professional debut in 2019. Surprisingly, he has only played in 9 games over the last four years.
Singh has been a huge surprise for Punjab Kings this season because, in his role as an opener, he has been hitting the ball incredibly well.
On April 5, 2023, at the Barsapara stadium, his 60-run knock in 34 balls against the Rajasthan Royals was quite a spectacle.
