IPL 2023: Marcus Stoinis And Josh Hazlewood Injury Update After LSG vs RCB Match

Even though RCB is concerned about Josh Hazlewood’s injury, this is the first of their five games on the road. The Indian Premier League (IPL)’s 43rd game will feature a showdown between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

RCB has won four matches while LSG has lost four, placing them in second place with five wins from eight games. Both teams are concerned about the health of their key players.

In the previous game against PBKS, Marcus Stoinis, a bowler for LSG, hurt his finger while bowling. He had left after hurting his finger while attempting a caught and bowled opportunity.

Josh Hazlewood is expected to play a key role for his side:

He underwent a scan for his index finger in the interim and reports that it doesn’t appear to be a serious enough injury. However, given the close proximity of the matches, LSG is probably not going to take a chance and Stoinis might just end up skipping this game.

Josh Hazlewood, on the other hand, is fully healthy and prepared to play in his first IPL 2023 match. Which will be a huge boost for RCB. After joining the team on April 14, he underwent rehabilitation for an Achilles injury under the supervision of RCB and Cricket Australia.

Before the previous game, RCB may have posted on its Instagram account about him being “almost fit,” but it appears that the team was awaiting approval from Cricket Australia. Hazlewood will likely take David Willey’s place in the starting XI for RCB now that he is healthy.

Lucknow Super Giants Squad: Yash Thakur, Amit Mishra, Jaydev Unadkat, Manan Vohra, Mark Wood, Quinton de Kock, Krishnappa Gowtham, Swapnil Singh, Prerak Mankad, Daniel Sams, Romario Shepherd, Arpit Guleria, Yudhvir Singh Charak, and Karan Sharma make up the Lucknow Super Giants squad.
