Following the team’s match against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023, Mark Wood departed the LSG squad. After his daughter was born, the pacer left. Speedster Wood from England hoped to participate once more.

Mark Wood is a pacer for the Lucknow Super Giants. Wood bid farewell and expressed his hope to return to the tournament in the future.

This season, Wood has taken 11 wickets from five games, with his best effort coming against the Delhi Capitals in the opening game. Wood took a fifer and stunned the crowd with his sheer speed while playing against Delhi Capitals.

Speedster Mark Wood of the Lucknow Super Giants will travel back to England to give birth to his daughter. After losing to Gujarat Titans on Sunday night, the team released a video on their social media platforms to announce the news.

Wood expressed his desire to return for the tournament’s championship round in the video. But added that nothing was finalized at that time.

Wood expressed regret for having to leave but said it was for a good cause in a video that LSG posted.

“In honour of my daughter’s birth. So, sadly, but for a good reason, return home. I might be able to return, and I hope you’ll be able to see me again”.

”I regret not being able to play in more games. But in the four that I have, I was able to take a few wickets. Hopefully, I will be able to make a strong showing once more”, the England speedster said.

“This team works really well together”. In the video, “I really love the team, the backroom staff are great, and it has been great to see the lads do well over different parts of the tournament,” Mark Wood is heard saying in the audio clip.

“One more push to enter the playoffs and advance to the championship. We all agree that is the intended outcome. Sports are difficult because you sometimes win and sometimes lose, but the guys are working hard in the gym”.

”There are some wonderful people in the group, and they go above and beyond for your team. Keep supporting them and believing in them, and I’m confident they’ll succeed,” Wood said.

On Sunday, LSG lost to Gujarat Titans and missed the opportunity to move up to second place in the league standings. With 11 points from 11 games, they are currently in third place.
