IPL 2023: Fans Troll Ben Stokes for His Poor Performance vs Gujarat Titans

Moeen Ali backs Ben Stokes to captain Chennai Super Kings after MSD hangs his boots. The 2023 IPL season is probably the last one for Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After Dhoni, CSK will search for a new leader to fill in the shoes of the legendary captain. Ben Stokes is one of the contenders to lead the Chennai Super Kings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja are the other contenders to lead the 4-time champions. Chennai Super Kings have won and lost 1 each. CSK face their arch-rivals on 7th April, Saturday. Chennai Super Kings will try hard to win the cup this season, considering it could be Dhoni’s last one.

“He’s really enjoying himself” – Moeen Ali on Ben Stokes

The Legacy of Dhoni’s CSK will always remain unmatched. The New captain will always feel the heat of leading CSK. “He’s really enjoying himself. CSK is the type of franchise where you come here and you do tend to enjoy yourself and really love playing for this franchise. He’s settled in really well. He’s a big part of the team with his experience.

There’s no real such leadership group: you have the captain and the coaches, and they talk. If Dhoni wants Ben Stokes’ advice, or a chat with him, it’s a very open environment in that changing room. I think there’s a chance; of course, there’s a chance, because he’s obviously done really well in Test cricket. But MS is still obviously in charge and he’s going to be captain for a while.” said Moeen Ali.

The pressure of leading a team, which was once led by Dhoni is always going to be there, regardless of who leads CSK. Ben Stokes has an adequate amount of experience as a captain, the England all-rounder handles pressure situations pretty well. The T20I and ODI WC Champion will remain the prime contender to lead CSK.
