IPL 2023: Rahul Tewatia Reveals The Chat With Yash Dayal

IPL 2023

Rahul Tewatia says in a chat with Yash Dayal, "You never know how strong the comeback can be".

Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a convincing win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2023. Following the win, Rahul Tewatia says in a chat with Yash Dayal, “You never know how strong the comeback can be”.

In the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rinku Singh blasted Yash Dayal for five straight sixes, prompting Gujarat Titans (GT) batsman Rahul Tewatia to encourage him.

Tewatia claimed he counselled the left-arm seamer to wait for his opportunity while working on the techniques he mishandled in the match against Kolkata.

In game thirteen of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, KKR needed 28 runs to win off just five balls. By hitting all five deliveries for maximums, Rinku helped Kolkata to an incredible victory.

Dayal was consequently removed from Gujarat Titans’ starting lineup for that day’s (April 13) six-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS). Tewatia talked about his conversation with Dayal following the KKR game in a post-game press conference. His words.

There was just one terrible game. Nobody will bring you down in this Gujarat Titans environment, I promise. Wait for your chance and practice the skills you were unable to use.

Tewatia supported the bowler, saying that the 25-year-old’s contribution to Gujarat Titans’ victory in the IPL 2022 season was significant.

In helping us win, he played a significant part. In addition to taking wickets with the new ball, he was also performing admirably with the old ball. Nothing will be altered by a single game.

“His innings matter a lot to the team” – Rahul Tewatia on Wriddhiman Saha

“I don’t think anyone would have even brought it up with him or shown him sympathy in the kind of environment we have here at GT. Negativity will only enter if he gives the matter much thought. On Wriddhiman Saha, Rahul Tewatia said, “His innings matter a lot to the team”.

During the conversation, Rahul Tewatia was also questioned about the importance of Wriddhiman Saha’s opening contribution, which is frequently overlooked. The veteran keeper-batter, according to the 29-year-old, has a significant role to play with the willow. He added details:

“In the powerplay, Widdhi da [Saha] gets us off to a great start.  As he starts the game, he has a very important role to play. The batters who enter later find it simpler as a result. The pressure of [losing] 2-3 wickets is not present because of the strong start he provides. His innings are crucial to the team’s success.”

Against PBKS, Saha scored 30 runs off just 19 balls. He and Shubman Gill (67 off 49) added 48 runs for the first wicket as GT chased 154 in 19.5 overs.
