Royal Challenger Bangalore batter Rajat Patidar is ruled out of IPL 2023 after suffering an Achilles Heel injury. Rajat Patidar was expected to return against Kolkata Knight Riders but as per the latest reports Rajat Patidar will indefinitely miss the entire season. Patidar joins the injury list of Josh Hazlewood, Will Jacks (replaced by Michael Bracewell) and Reece Topley.
Rajat Patidar is known for his big hitting. Patidar scored a match-winning hundred the last time he played at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in 2022. RCB will miss his services in the middle order in IPL 2023. on 4th April RCB team announced his unavailability for the rest of the season. RCB are yet to announce his replacement.
After ruling out of the season the young talented batter from Madhya Pradesh took to Instagram to give an update on his injury status and write down a heartfelt message ahead of RCB’s game against KKR at the Eden Gardens on 6th April, Thursday.
Rajat Patidar on his Instagram story wrote ” I will miss the red and gold army at Chinnaswamy. No matter where I am, I will always cheer for you. Until next time.”
RCB faces a huge setback with Rajat Patidar’s injury
The injury of Rajat Patidar is a huge setback for the men in red & gold. His injury now raises huge selection concerns and RCB will have RCB tried wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik at the number 3 position but DK failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Anuj Rawat is another potential option for RCB to try out at number 3. The young left-hander scored useful knocks in IPL 2022.
RCB will next play against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on 7th April, Thursday. RCB’s opponent KKR lost another player in the form of Shakib Al Hasan. The world no 1 all-rounder announced his unavailability for the rest of the season. England’s opening batsman Jason Roy is named as the replacement for Shakib Al Hasan.
