Rashid Khan, the vice-captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT), was presented with a unique memento during the team meeting because this afternoon marks his 100th IPL game. The 39th IPL 2023 game will pit GT against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rashid Khan has taken 126 wickets at an impressive average of 20.31 over 99 games in the IPL so far, all while maintaining a respectable economy rate of 6.50. Between 2017 and 2021, he served as the SRH brand’s representative. After that, he changed teams in 2022, joining Gujarat Titans, where he won the championship in their inaugural campaign.

Before today, Rashid Khan had taken 14 wickets in seven IPL 2023 games, tying Mohammed Siraj for the lead in the wicket charts.

The talented leg-spinner received a memento from his GT teammate Wriddhiman Saha in a huddle before his 100th IPL appearance.

Everyone was able to see it through a video shared by the IPL’s official Twitter account. Watch it down below:

Due to the unfavourable weather conditions present at the game, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya chose to bowl after winning the toss this afternoon. The starting lineup for the defending champions didn’t change from the contest prior. Pandya said: while speaking at the toss.

“We’ll start bowling. The weather is the only factor; the pitch is irrelevant. When we arrived here, it was sunny; right now, it’s mostly cloudy. We still have seven games to play, so we must play with the utmost professionalism and focus on each game individually. The goal is to achieve as many victories as we can. We’re using the same lineup as in the previous game.”

Kolkata Knight Riders while batting first put up a target of 180 runs for Gujarat Titans with the likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Andre Russell. However runs fell short when Gujarat came to bat as with the advances of Gill, Vijay Shankar, and Miller.

Gujarat achieved a comfortable win with 2 overs and 7 wickets remaining. Gujarat climbed to the top of the league table with the win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
