The 2nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squared off at the PCA stadium in Mohali.
Shardul Thakur of KKR is an all-rounder who is renowned for having a distinctive personality on the field. On his KKR debut on Saturday, he hit a first-ball six which is easily regarded as one of the shots of the competition.
In the opening innings of the game, Shardul Thakur had a terrible performance with the ball.
Many believed the Indian all-rounder could have had much better debut performances for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Although he delivered expensive stats of 4-0-43-0.
With Punjab Kings finishing on 191/5 while batting first, his poor bowling performance was a big factor. But ranking No. 8. Thakur did something outrageous after showing up to give chase.
In the 15th over Shardul took a good length delivery from record-breaking signing Sam Curran and timed it so well that the ball sailed gracefully over deep mid-wicket.
Fans’ Reaction after Shardul Thakur’s Six:

The play was halted by rain. KKR lost because they were seven runs behind using the DLS method and PBKS won to open their season.
They were 80 for 5, attempting to chase down 192, and winning seemed unlikely. At that point, Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer formed a partnership that seemed to put them in the lead in the game for the first time.
The equation was reduced from 32 to 62 needed by Russell’s six and four off Sam Curran with the balance of power shifting. Rain, however also drew Knight Riders nearer to the DLS target.
But Curran won the next ball after Russell fell. In the subsequent over Venkatesh departed. Further out of reach, the DLS grew.
Even though Shardul Thakur and Sunil Narine combined for 15 off five balls, the Kings managed to maintain their lead. When play was eventually stopped due to rain. The DLS table showed that the hosts were seven ahead which was just enough to earn them two points in their season debut.
