Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson heaped praise on Yuzvendra Chahal, who once again pulled off a brilliant bowling performance in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He played a vital role in their win against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, May 11 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Yuzvendra Chahal took a 4-wicket haul in the match, conceding just twenty-five runs in four overs. His wickets tally rose to 21 wickets this season, and overall 187 in the Indian Premier League. The spinner overtook Dwayne Bravo to become the leading wicket-taker in the tournament’s history. Speaking about Chahal’s performance, Sanju Samson expressed that he should be given the tag of a legend. The Rajasthan Royals skipper said,

“I think it is time to give him the tag of legend. We are grateful to have him in the franchise. Never have to speak to him, give him the ball and he knows what to do. He bowls at the death as well, very pleasing for me as a captain.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal enjoys batting in the powerplay: Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson also showered praise on youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in cracking form in the ongoing 2023 Indian Premier League. The opener slammed an unbeaten 98 runs knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders, as his team sailed to victory. Samson expressed that the team expects Yashasvi Jaiswal to perform this way. He said,

“We always expect this from Yashasvi Jaiswal. I didn’t have to do anything today. Just put the bat on the ball and watch him play. We are used to it now, even the bowlers know how he goes in the powerplay. He enjoys batting in the powerplay.”

The Rajasthan Royals rank third on the points table currently with twelve points from as many games. They have a great chance of qualifying for the playoffs of the 2023 Indian Premier League.

“We have two more quarter-finals to play, the pressure in never off in the IPL. Each game, each over is important,” said Sanju Samson.
