IPL 2023: Virat Kohli Shows Million-Dollar Gesture For Suryakumar Yadav

Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by chasing down 200 with 21 balls remaining on Tuesday. Suryakumar Yadav’s career-best performance in the IPL helped to move Mumbai Indians up the standings from eighth to third in the IPL 2023.

Suryakumar’s 35-ball 83-run innings at the Wankhede was a pure rampage, featuring seven boundaries and six maximums. Virat Kohli’s million-dollar gesture for the MI star, however, was what stole the show after his firing and got people talking online.

Even their captain Faf du Plessis acknowledged that the RCB was consistently 15-20 runs short despite setting a target of 200. However, Suryakumar’s strike indicated that they were most likely far from a total that could have been challenging.

Mumbai’s pursuit, however, involved more than just Suryakumar. Ishan Kishan, the home team’s opener, gave them the ideal start with a quick 21-ball 42. However, RCB fought back when Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Ishan in back-to-back deliveries.

The match-winning partnership between Suryakumar and Nehal Wadhera then began cautiously. And slowly up until the halfway point before the latter took on Hasaranga. The RCB’s attack was then completely mocked by Suryakumar as boundaries rained down from both ends.

As the MI star made his way back to the pavilion to the loud applause of the Wankhede crowd and a standing ovation from his teammates. Vijaykumar Vyshak finally dismissed him in the 16th over. He received a hug from Kohli, who also thanked him for his effort. After the game, Kohli had in fact also given him a hug.

“From the perspective of the team, very necessary. I’m overjoyed to have won a game at home like this. I’m referring to the creation of a plan. They made an effort to force me to strike the larger portion. Reduce the speed and bowl slowly. I advised Nehal to run quickly and hit the ball hard while hitting it into the gaps”.

“What you practice must coincide with what you intend to do in competition. I am aware of my running routes. Open net sessions are taking place. My strategy is sound”. Suryakumar said after receiving his first Player of the Match award of the season, “I don’t do anything different”.
