A Bowler clicking 150 kmph constantly along with the guidance of Dale Steyn, sounds amazing, right? But not with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost a close encounter against Delhi Capitals by 7 runs.

Umran Malik did not complete his 4 overs. On the other hand, Jansen is constantly getting piled up for runs. SRH are yet to use Kartik Tyagi in a single match. Former Australian Cricketer  Brett Lee also pointed out the underuse of Umran Malik in the powerplay.

Umran Malik with the new ball can prove to be more lethal than in the 8th and 9th over. Umran Malik bowls serious pace and hits 150 every now and then, not using such a bowler in the powerplay is an advantage to the opposition. The Jammu and Kashmir bowler has bowled just one over in the powerplay this season.

Wasim Jaffer praises Umran Malik

He went costly in that particular over conceding 28 runs. But a single over doesn’t justify the kind of bowler he is.

“SRH are playing Umran Malik, but he bowled only two overs in the match against Delhi. Instead of him, they could have played a batter. If you don’t trust him as a bowler, it’s better to bring in a batsman to the team,” said Wasim Jaffer.

He went on to add, “Looking at their batting order, I feel Abhishek Sharma is a better option as an opener. Most of his runs for SRH have come as an opener. He is batting out of position [in the middle-order]. Harry Brook could bat at four or five. That will strengthen their lower-order batting.”

Markram also bowls an over or two in the middle. With 6 bowling options available, Hyderabad has failed to utilize their bowlers properly.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have only won 2 games this season and sit at the bottom of the table along with Delhi Capitals. Sunrisers Hyderabad looked like the strongest team on paper, but it is an altogether a different story now.
