IPL 2023: [WATCH] Anuj Rawat Produce Direct Hit To Dismiss Prithvi Shaw

Royal Challengers Bangalore returned to winning ways as they defeated Delhi Capitals comfortably by 23 runs played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 15 April 2023 in the IPL 2023.

It was an ideal start for RCB as Anuj Rawat stopped with one hand and produce a direct hit to dismiss Prithvi Shaw in the first over. Wayne Parnell dismissed Mitchell Marsh as Virat Kohli took an easy catch. Siraj struck again to get rid of Yash Dhull to leave Delhi Capitals in tatters.

David Warner looked impressive during his short stay and was dismissed by the debutant Vijaykumar Vyshak with a simple catch to Kohli. At the end of the first six overs, DC looked in deep trouble at 32 for 4.

 

Manish Pandey provided some resistance to the team with a well-complied half-century off 37 balls. He was dismissed by Hasranaga via review for LBW. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out to leave Delhi Capitals end hopes of winning.

It was a superb effort by RCB bowlers to restrict Delhi Capitals at 151 for 9 winning the match by 23 runs to get valuable 2 points.

Virat Kohli contiunes his superb form 

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner won the toss and elected to field first. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli showed their intent to put pressure on DC bowlers. A superb one-handed catch by Aman Khan ended the innings for Faf du Plessis. Faf and Virat Kohli added 42 runs for the opening wicket. At the end of the first six overs, RCB scored 47 for 1.

Virat Kohli looked in sublime form keeping the scoreboard ticking with quick running between the wickets along with Mahipal Lomror. Kohli completed his 3rd fifty this season off 33 balls and was eventually dismissed off a full toss caught by Yash Dhull. Kohli and Lomror added 47 runs for the 2nd wicket.

Glenn Maxwell showed intent right from the word go against Lalit Yadav and kept putting pressure on Delhi Capitals bowlers. Mitchell Marsh struck getting rid of Lomror with a review for caught behind. The umpire called it not out but on review it was overturned to out. Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback as they picked the wickets of Harshal Patel, Glenn Maxwell, and Dinesh Karthik in quick succession.

Anuj Rawat coming as an impact player struggled with his timing. Shahbaz Ahmed looked impressive and put unbeaten 42 runs for the 7th wicket. At the end of 20 overs, RCB posted below par total of 174 for 8.
