Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni enjoys an amazing fan following all over the world. The stadiums are filled with his fans cheering for him in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 season. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja expressed that the fans chant for MS Dhoni when he comes out to bat at number 7 instead of the wicket-keeper batter.

MS Dhoni pulled off a brilliant batting show against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, May 10 at Chepauk, batting at number eight. The Chennai fans were on their feet when he smashed 20 runs off nine delivering the innings. In the 19th over, the skipper slammed Khaleel Ahmed for two fours and a six. Speaking about MS Dhoni’s crazy fan following, Ravindra Jadeja said in the post-match presentation,

“When I bat at 7, the crowd is disappointed and chants for Mahi bhai. Imagine if I bat higher; they will just wait for me to get out.”

The Chennai Super Kings defended 167 runs against the Delhi Capitals in the 2023 Indian Premier League at the Chepauk Stadium. Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Deepak Chahar took two. The pitch was on the slower side offering an advantage to the bowlers. Speaking about the pitch at Chepauk, Ravindra Jadeja said,

“As a spinner, it feels great if the ball is stopping and turning. Because we practice here, we know what length and what pace to bowl. That is our home advantage,” he added.

The Chennai Super Kings won the match by 27 runs against the Delhi Capitals. They retained their second spot on the points table with fifteen points from twelve games and an NRR of 0.493. They are in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs of the 2023 Indian Premier League season.
