IPL 2023: Yusuf Pathan Made A Bold Prediction About MS Dhoni’s IPL Plans

MS Dhoni led his team and gave a special lap of honour to the home crowd following CSK’s final league match at Chepauk. Given that MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his career, many believe that this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will be his last as well.

However, Dhoni himself has not made any such declarations. The legendary cricketer has been greeted with resounding cheers at each venue Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have visited this season.

Meanwhile, a former all-rounder for India, Yusuf Pathan, disagrees with this. The former cricketer thinks the seasoned wicketkeeper-batter can play for another five years. To support his position, he points to the new Impact Player rule.

IPL 2023: “Dhoni can play for another 5 years under a new captain” – Yusuf Pathan

“Why should Dhoni leave? He can continue to play for another five years thanks to the new Impact Player rule”. Despite the fact that he may not be the captain. Fans will still get to see him play bat and guide CSK.

”The new Impact Player rule, in my opinion, allows Dhoni to play for an additional five years. Retirement has not been brought up by him; rather, it has been brought up by others”.

”There is still a lot of cricket in him. In spite of knee pain, he has made big sixes in the IPL. Therefore, this demonstrates his dedication to the game”, said Pathan on ESPNCricinfo.

Following CSK’s final league game at Chepauk. Dhoni led his team in a special lap of honour to welcome the home crowd while throwing tennis balls and jerseys into the crowd.

Second-placed CSK under Dhoni depends entirely on their final league match against Delhi Capitals. Which is set to take place later today (Saturday) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. They have accumulated 15 points from their 13 games, and a victory would advance them to the next round.

However, if the Yellow Army fails to secure a victory. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians will have a legitimate chance to pass the Super Kings. Making things difficult for the Yellow Army.
