3 Players That PBKS Could Have Bought Instead of Harshal Patel in IPL 2024:

  1. Chetan Sakariya

The left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya got chances with Rajasthan Royals and got released by the franchise. He was included in the Delhi Capitals but did not get chances where he was bought during the 2021-23 season. He bowled with great control for Rajasthan Royals in death overs for Rajasthan Royals and also domestic season.

For his excellent bowling, he was included in the playing XI against Sri Lanka. Chetan Sakariya would be an ideal option for Punjab Kings in the death overs with lots of variations that make life tough for the batters to score runs. PBKS franchise would have bought him for a lesser price than Harshal Patel.

  1. Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav was released by Kolkata Knight Riders before the mini-auction. He has an excellent record in Indian Premier League history picking up 130 wickets from 141 games at an economy of 8.38 runs per with best figures of 4 for 23.

Yadav has a raw pace that can trouble the batters and produce match-winning efforts. He can swing the ball and could have been an ideal partner with Kagiso Rabada, Curran and Arshdeep Singh. Gujarat Titans bought him for Rs 5.80 Crore.

Umesh Yadav has the experience of using Indian conditions which would be helpful for Punjab Kings bowlers who have been struggling with their bowling.

  1. Lockie Ferguson

The New Zealand pace bowler Lockie Ferguson was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 2 Crore. He can bowl 145 KMPH and would have been an ideal partner along with Rabada and Sam Curran which would created terror among the batters.

Ferguson played for the Kolkata Knight and Gujarat Titans franchise. He has played 37 matches and grabbed 38 wickets at an economy of 8.66 with best figures of 4 for 23. Ferguson showed skills with the New Zealand team with 151 wickets at an economy of 7.91 runs per over. He led NZ to a T20I series win on Bangladesh soil and made the country proud.

He would have been an ideal choice along with Rabada, Arshdeep Singh and Sam Curran. Ferguson has performed well for New Zealand in the T20I format.
