One of the greatest white ball cricketers that the world has seen, Rohit Sharma celebrates his 37th birthday with his wife and Mumbai Indians teammates ahead of their clash against Lucknow Super Giants on 30th April 2024.

He made his One-day international debut against Ireland in 2007. MS Dhoni promoted him to the opening slot in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Since then, Rohit Sharma has changed the fortunes of Indian batting in limited overs format.

Rohit Sharma is the only cricketer to have 3 double centuries in One-day international cricket. He also registered the highest score of 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in 2014. During his brilliant journey in the ODI format, Rohit made 209 against Australia in Bengaluru in 2013. He then produced another magical knock against Sri Lanka with an impressive 208 in 2017.

Rohit Sharma has been the backbone of Indian batting in the ODI format. He has scored so far 10709 runs from 262 matches (254 innings) with 31 centuries and 55 half-centuries to his name. He was the leading run-getter in the 2019 edition of the World Cup where he scored record levelling 5 centuries. Rohit was instrumental in helping flying starts in the 2023 World Cup played in India.

Rohit Sharma has performed brilliantly in T20I format. He became the first player to hit 5 centuries in the shortest format. Rohit has scored 3974 runs from 151 matches (143 innings) including 5 centuries and 29 half-centuries to his name at a strike rate of 139.97.

Rohit Sharma played a key role during the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and helped them to win the inaugural edition played in South Africa.

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians to 5 IPL titles winning in 2013, 2015, and 2017. They won back-to-back titles in the 2019 and 2020 editions. Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy job during the ongoing season and replaced by Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians are struggling in the 2024 edition of IPL and need a win against LSG to stay alive in the tournament.
